Product Characteristics:

General Application - Summa's series 25, 34 and 45 single and tandem vane pumps are designed to provide hydraulic fluid flow for the operation of both industrial and mobile equipment.

Design Characteristics - summa's cartridge-type vane pumps provide positive displacement of hydraulic fluid. Shaft side loads are hydraulically balanced. The 12 vane industrial pump's design provides significant noise reduction during operation. Flow rate is determined by pump size and drive speed. Carefully note pump dimensions and flow capabilities when ordering.

Design Flexibility - All pumps are designed so that changes in direction of rotation, port position, and pumping capacity are easily made to meet your application requirements.

Pump Components:

Industrial Pumps - All Summa Industrial Vane Pumps contain a rear cover, front body, shaft, and cartridge kit. The cartridge kit consists of an inlet support plate, an outlet support plate, a cam ring, a slotted rotor splined to the shaft, and twelve vanes with intravanes fitted into the rotor slots.
Mobile Pumps - All Summa Mobile Vane Pumps contain a rear cover, front body shaft, and cartridge kit. The cartridge kit consists of an inlet support plate, an outlet support plate, each fitted with two seal packs, two flex plates, a cam ring, a slotted rotor splined to the shaft, and ten vanes with intravanes fitted into the rotor slots.

Fluid Movement

For both mobile and industrial model pumps, hydraulic fluid enters the pump through the front body of the unit, surrounding the cartridge. Fluid then flows into the cartridge through openings in the areas where the inlet support plate (for industrial pumps only) or the flex plate (for mobile pumps only) meets the cam ring and the area where the outlet support plate (industrial pumps only) or flex plate (mobile pumps only) meets the cam ring. Fluid is discharged through the flex plate (mobile pumps only) and the outlet support plate (industrial pumps only) to the outlet port in the body.
